Well as with my past swag reviews this isnt about the game but rather the special edition Shit. We. All. Get of a game I got.
Well I was curious about this game but honestly forgot about it before launch so when I finally remembered the Deluxe Editions were officially gone and going for 90 bucks on ebay. Just so happened I lucked out and saw one in a Walmart of all places on the bottom shelf behind some other shit so I snatched one right up. Thats one thing I had about glass cases if not everything can be displayed easily visable and half the shit is under or behind something else and if you want to check you have to go find some fucking guy who doesnt want to be bothered with opening a case for nothing and having to stand there with you the whole time.
So I am sitting here opening this baby up and listening to "I started a joke" by the Beegee's over and over again for some reason. And here is what I found. An artbook with a soundtrack cd with 24 tracks on it on the back page of the artbook, a double wide slipcase for the game and extra, a strategy guide with almost 200 pages, and the game itself.
I was personally little dissapointed intially but the artbook isnt to bad (but nothing special), the strategy guide is actually quite detailed and filled with alot of information. I mean usually included strat guides that come with a game are like 13 pages and just a bunch of shit you can learn by reading the manual, but this one is actually chock full of shit and over 100 pages. The slipcase looks nice and isnt to flimsy really. Soundtrack cd I sampled a tiny bit and sounded pretty nice, but I think without the game to go with it you lose some of its luster.
If your sporting a big hardon for this game then chances are youll dig the deluxe edition, but if your one of those who hates special edition shit you wont get your mind changed here any because its all pretty just standard SE bullshit, but its atleast nice bullshit for a terrific game.
Deluxe or not though this is still a game worth buying. Its hard as fuckall but its really good and has a really unique online compenent to it. Plus I busted a boner in my pants since this game is kind of a spiritual successor to Kings Field (the same studio that created Kings Field did Demons souls).
