Gargus ponders the universe.

Yes I realize that mostly my posts on here are full of arcane sarcasm and cursing but even I poses the cranial capacity to escape the shackles of a life marred by banality and think of something other than my small mundane lifes meaningless exsistence.

I found myself laying in the driveway outfront of my place staring at the sky trying to shoe-horn in my head the idea of space possibly being infinite. To truly grasp the term infinite puts quite a squeeze on the brain pan, to actually think that something virtually has no end to it is no easy task, especially when you consider something with no end also has no starting point either.

Then the thought occured to me, perhaps the universe isnt infinite as we suspect it is, perhaps thats only our perception of things due to our actually simple minds and limited technology.

What if perhaps the universe is spherical? Imagine all points in the universe turning back in towards itself. Perhaps it is infinite just because it comes back upon itself and is a never ending cycle. Maybe if we had a powerfull enough device to peer into space that just maybe no matter which direction we looked in we would see ourselves from behind, all light, all matter, all of space in a continious circle always coming back around in on itself, were just to primitive to be able to detect it is all.

Or perhaps were some virus in another beings body, with the universe as a small portion of it. The planets and such to us are just sub atomic particles to it, the smallest parts of what makes it up, just like atoms and molecules are some of the smallest to us. Its all relative really, we could be a illness to something else and were breaking down just one of its cells that we call earth. Centuries to use are mere seconds to it, were so small and insignificant to it that it doesnt know we exsist as intelligent life. Think of what a ant might think of human as it watches us as giants striding across the ground and what it must think, god like almost.

Or perhaps we were purchased by some child and are nothing but sea monkeys. Our universe is nothing but a giant aquarium and we were bought from a novelty ad in the back of a comic book. Water added to our planet to reconstitute our life from our brine shrimp like stasis, perhaps thats where the notion of god came from, the first of us being revivied or created by this being who is no more than a child where he comes from. Again, ants and humans.
