AMC theaters is run by whores.

And not the good kind of whores, the corporate kind of whores.

This doesnt qualify as a full fledged "You know whats a shitload of fuck?" rant since those I reserve for real things, this is like a mini rant, or rant light or diet rant if you will.

I went to a AMC theater yesterday to see Moon (review coming soon) because it was the only place in like 500 miles showing it. So I go there and the fucking ticket price was 9.75 for a wednesday afternoon showing, used to you got a matinee special price everywhere for movies before like 5 or 6, but now movie started at 4:40 on a weekday afternoon and it cost me almost 10 bucks. Couple dollars more and I could have just bought the fucking dvd when it comes out. They wouldnt even take a student ID discount, told me that was for thursdays only. Granted I havent been a student in a very long time but my ID has no date or expiration so I been using it better part of 8 years at theaters.

So mildly ticked off at the price I go to the theater with nice thoughts in mind of seeing this movie Id been wanting to and forget the price.

So Im in the theater, lights go down, I settle in and what am I greeted with? Fucking commercials, not trailers, god fuck damn commercials. I had to sit through a Coke commercial, a Minute Maid commercial, a Toyota car commercial, a Honda car commercial and a Samsung phone commercial. Almost 10 minutes of fucking commercials, then the trailers come on. I dont mind trailers because Im obviously interested in movies since Im in one and not in a god damn car dealership. So I sit through 7 trailers, 7, thats to damn many (Inglorious bastards one excited me though). So here I am in this place and I am checking my watch, almost 20 minutes of commercials and trailers, then what do I see? More cock sucking commercials, another Coke commercial and a commercial for AMC theaters. Why in the holy fuck shit hell are they showing a commercial about a place your already sitting in and paid to sit in there? Thats like going to a restaraunt, eating and when you pay your bill a tv by your table comes on and shows you a commercial for that restaraunt giving you reasons why you should eat there. Its fucking stupid, I already fucking paid I just want to watch the god damn movie already!

Look if the movie only cost me 2 dollars or was free I wouldnt mind watching commercials because they get paid to show those commercials, like how radio stations are free cause they are paid by commercials, but I already paid them way to much just for a ticket I shouldnt have to watch more shit. But what can I say, if I want to see certain movies that only they are showing then I have to suck it up and go or not see the movie.
